Germ FrEaK!

So the other day my great neighbor Shirlee came over and brought Drew a Christmas present. Drew opened the gift, took the tissue paper out and headed up stairs. Andy asked me if I knew what Drew was doing upstairs, and I said no, as I was talking with Shirlee, so Andy went to check on him. A few seconds latter he returned and asked me if I used toilet seat covers. I said yes, very confused.....Turns out Drew took the tissue paper up stairs and neatly covered the toilet seat with it thinking it was a cover!!!! I guess taking him in the bathroom stalls has paid off!!

I'm A BiG BOy!!!!

A few weeks ago we bought Drew a training potty. Drew was showing interest and bringing us diapers to be changed, so we thought we would give it a try. We sat the potty in the bathroom and for the first few weeks Drew took it apart, strung it throughout the house... Then at night we would gather all the parts and have him sit on the potty for five seconds before tun tub. He finally stopped taking the toilet apart and today was the big day that he went potty in it!!! He was soooo excited, as were we!!!

Thanks Laura!!!!

Today we had a fun surprise in the mail.... An AWESOME music set from Laura and Dave! I had so much fun opening the present and TOTALLY love it.

A Day In The Life Of Drew

Busy, busy, busy, is this almost soon to be 19 month old! He loves to throw all of his pillows of his rocker in his room and look at books.
So proud of his beautiful shoes he found that fit him perfect!!

So my friend Faith was watching Drew and she brought her swing over for her 12 week old little girl Haily. As soon as Haily left the swing Drew jumped in and never left it! He kept one foot on the ground and rocked himself as he watched Sesame Street!

Shenandoah Mountains

Friday morning we woke up early for a long weekend vacation in the Shenandoah Mountains. We stayed in a really neat condo right in the mountains and it was great to relax and do nothing! At night we would take out the Wii and get a good laugh out of each others mad skills!
Drew found a perfect hiding spot in the kitchen!

4th Annual Turkey Trot

Since Andy and I have known each other every Thanksgiving morning we wake up and do a 5K Turkey Trot! As you can tell Drew was thrilled to be in his fleece outfit and ride in a stroller. He actually did great and Andy took him out of the stroller at one point and he would run next to daddy!!!
I had to take a picture of this... yes it's the daddy's pushing the strollers!!! My friend Jill and I ran the race stroller free and had tears in our eyes at how good it felt to move our arms!!

The Baby Whisper

For those of you who have kids this is the true baby whisper, my friend Moira! For Thanksgiving Day we had a group of friends over for dinner and while the guys were in the yard playing yard games Moira was surrounded by the children reading books about ALL DAY!!! They LOVED her and followed her all around!

Santa Came Early!

Santa got the word that mommy will be leaving with Drew for Iowa the fist week in Dec as daddy will be on travel for the first three weeks that month, so he came early!! Drew loves to be in the kitchen when mommy is cooking so Santa brought him a kitchen set so he can cook with mommy! Andy and I were shocked at how much toys have changed since we were little!!! His kitchen is nicer then the one in our house, with stainless steel appliances, the microwave and oven makes noises, when you put the pans on the burner depending on what pot you use it will sizzle or bubble!!!
During the set up Drew would watch daddy use the screw driver so he tried it on his remote car!!

Fall Hike

This past weekend we took a hike at the State park. Drew lasted about five minutes in the back pack and then wanted down to run and explore!

Football Sunday

And Andy's wish has come true.. Drew is a MN Viking fan! When Andy gets excited Drew will jump up and start clapping and then sit back down by daddy!
Yes, on game day, daddy dresses Drew in he MN jersey. Now if it would only bring the team good luck!

"hmmm are they going to pull this game off..."

18 Months Old!!

On November 9th I turned 18 months old, and I had to have my 18th month old shots on Monday:( I now weigh 27lbs and am full of 100% boy energy! Here's what I've been up to and a few of my favorite things!
  • My mom's wish has come true and I'm a chatty Cathy!!! I can say the following: purple, yellow, snack (important one), Dada, Baba (for mama), Papa, turtle, tractor, teacher, yes, more, thank you, Elmo, hot, choo choo, uh oh, yuck, Santa, ho ho ho, dog, cat, burrrr, and I do baby signs!
  • I love to play trains and tractors
  • Books are my favorite, I could be read to all day and be so content!
  • Twice a week I go to art class and gym class and next Monday I start swim lessons twice a week!
  • Tub tub has always been a high light for my day as it gets super crazy and messy with my new water markers!
  • I'm obsessed with dogs and cats
  • I think I'm going to be in a band when I'm older, as I love to play the harmonica, bells, and drums. My parents play music a lot during the day so I'm always busting a move!

Happy Halloween

Last night for Halloween we went with Drew's buddy Kai (19months) to the Naval Hospital to go Trick or Treating! Drew wasn't to sure about his costume and then fell in love with it! Kai was dressed up as a baby doc (his dad is a doc there).
Drew doesn't get much candy at home, so I think in every photo he had something in his mouth!!

Leading the way to the next candy station....

After all the walking (running) the little lion became to hot for his main and took it off!

New Smile????

So Drew does a new smile for us when we whip out the camera!!!

Our Little Dylan

Daddy has a harmonica in the house that he loves! Daddy soon became tired finding it full of spit and purchased Drew his own and he goes CrAzY with it. We will play for a while, then clap for himself after his performance!

Busch Gardens!

On Saturday we took a trip to Busch Gardens! Drew did great and LOVED the rides!! He would clap and go "OOOOOOOOOOOH" really loud out of excitement on the rides!!! It was also nice, it FINALLY felt like fall here and we had to dress warm!!

This ride it wayyyyy to slow for me....
Drew loved this ride and clapped the entire time!

The Costume Is Here...

Good old aunt Allison sent Drew a costume for Halloween!!! We couldn't wait till next week to put it on him! Drew is obsessed with lions so he was stunned to look in the mirror and see that he was one!!

Then he wanted the lion costume off... and he meant NOW...

Daddy then became the lion!
Drew out grew his truck that he use to scoot around on and we upgraded to a Fire Truck car! It has a siren, radio to talk on, and a horn. Drew spends most of his time going in and out of the door that opens and shoving sticks in the gas tank!!! We carved pumpkins the other night with some friends. Drew wasn't to sure about the texture!!

Whistle While I Work...

The other day I took one of our 77 strollers to a consignment shop and what did I see in the corner on our way out a play tool bench! It was the best $6.00 we have every spent!! (and all the pieces are there)!!! I have no idea how he knew to wear the safety glasses, but it was the first thing he wanted on!!!! He spends forever working on his bench!!

Pumpkin Patch Farm

This past weekend we took a trip to a pumpkin farm with a petting zoo. It was sooo cute as soon as we pulled in Drew started clapping in his car seat!! We decided that Drew was going to pick out the golden pumpkin this year. It took a while touching everyone in sight, but we ended up finding the perfect one:)
"Um, dad what do you think of this green one.."
"A little to heavy...."
"Yap, this is the one cause theirs dirt on it, and I LOVE dirt!!!"
Drew lead us all around the farm!

Drew is going through a HUGE tractor phase!!! He spotted the tractor from a mile away and didn't slow down until he was in the seat steering!!

On a hay ride

Baby Spa

So it had been a few months since Drew had a hair cut and he was starting to look like a baby hippy (daddy liked the look). After our last traumatic hair experience at the Navy Salon on base with a high and tight for our one year old and knowing that I couldn't fly back home to my neighbor who is a hair stylist that we love we had to look else where. We lucked out and found a children's salon only for kids!!! Their was a selection of cool cars to pick in and sit in them while your hair was being cut, and a Disney movie playing! I told Andy goes to a better salon than I do! He was finished with a blow dry and a lint roller!!!!
